Baru-baru ini, saya telah menerima pertauliahan kenaikan pangkat sebagai Pesuruhjaya Ibu Pejabat Kebangsaan dibawah Unit Latihan Negara dengan jawatan PIP (Latihan) - Pusat Latihan Pengakap Malaysia & Kem Dr. Shafie Mohd Salleh (Bagan Lalang).

Continuing Education in Sport

Since my inception into sports (and years earlier), I have gained and followed many short courses, programs and seminars through the years organised by the respective government agencies, international organisations and / or National Olympic Committee. Some of which charges a nominal fee and majority is free of charge. Much has been gained and I'm still eagerly seek for newer information for personal growth and in giving back to the numerous sport organizations that I represent plus the general public.

My Journey Continues in 2012...

Assalamualaikum warahmatulahi warabakatuh,

In these present world, not many would want to volunteer unless there is some monetary reward attached to it. In the days of old, out of pocket expenses would have been justifiable for those who would give their time to be a volunteer in any specific area of interest be it as a First Aid giver, sports official, helpers in any organizations etc...how all this has changed when self-interest put pay into the art of giving.

Yet with dwindling numbers of sincere volunteers around, I still find time to put service above self...interest of others is my 1st priority when I'm in any given area especially when work is not concerned.

As I continue my journey this year, I've placed or volunteered my services / expertise in the following associations, clubs and cooperative...

As 2013 is about 3 months away, let there be more sincere volunteers that would give the time and effort for others and at the end of day a sense of self giving should overwhelm us for that effort.

If there's any reward/s to be given / received, let those who has meant to give be the judged of it, rather then asking for it and not receiving any could give false impression that those whom we are, are after worldly rewards and not the afterlife.

St. John Ambulance of Malaysia Five Years Service Medal

 

In 2004, the National St. John Council of Malaysia introduced the Five Years Service Medal to recognise members and officers who have performed efficiently for at least five years. This medal was introduced in recognition of the efficient service of SJAM members and officers who have been diligently discharging their duties. This award precedes the Service Medal of the Order of St. John, which is awarded for ten years active and efficient service.

The medal is made from nickel silver and has a diameter of 35mm. The St. John Ambulance of Malaysia device is prominently featured at the centre of the medal with the “Pingat Perkhidmatan 5 Tahun” on top and “Perkhidmatan Bagi Manusia” at the bottom, encircling the emblem.

 

 

5th Advanced Sport Management Course 2012

The 5^th Advanced Sport Management Course (ASMC) 2012 will be conducted over an eight month period with a first session of three days followed by three sessions of four days per session.  In total 15 days will be devoted to face-to-face in class learning and the days in between sessions will be devoted to distance learning and completion of case studies.  The course schedule is as follows

• Session 1 from 23^rd to 25th March 2012, covering the modules ‘Organizing an Olympic Sports Organization’ and ‘Managing Strategically’.

• Session 2 from 10^th to 13^th May 2012, covering the modules ‘Managing Human Resources’ and ‘Managing Finance’.

• Session 3 from 12^th to 15^th July 2012, covering the modules ‘Managing Marketing’ and ‘Organizing a Major Sport Event’.

• Session 4 from 4^th to 7^th October 2012 and will cover the Presentation and Discussion and the Learning Process by and with the participants.

The main content for the modules will be derived from the book, “Managing Olympic Sport Organizations”, developed in cooperation with MEMOS (Executive Masters in Sport Organizations Management).  This book provides the primary content for the learning experience and is the framework for delivery of the course. The materials presented are taken from Olympic Sport Organizations throughout the world and represent a balance of sport management theory and practical examples of best practices, providing a rich and extensive database of applied materials. The use of the book as the standard referral text will enable participants to identify what is and is not appropriate for their organisations and learn how to specifically apply the information to improve their organizations.

The course will be held at Level 2B, OCM Indoor Sports Complex, Olympic Council of Malaysia, Jalan Hang Jebat , 50150 Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.  Those interested are invited to submit their applications in due course.
